Friendly would be the key to inviting a spirit of any sort in. I'll have to consider this now, since I have a bit more information to go off of. I do have to be considerate of my mom, and more so, my little cat. She sees things, I know, so I really don't need her spazzing out on anything that comes into the house. But I can look into things perhaps cautiously with barriers in place.

As an apartment dweller with a barrel-ful of spirits knocking around, yes they do work in apartments. It's definitely a different relationship now, however. Mostly they seem to require more sustenance since there is no land immediately beneath the house for them to rest in. (at least, that's my current working theory) At the old house there was a single powerful spirit in the stream down the hill from the house and he kept everyone in the area pretty well protected. There were a small trio of little spirits that came up through the earth and into the house one day. They are each very different, with different kinds of power and there's one that must be kept sated else he'll light something on fire. When I moved they came with me. The folks who were in the apartment before me either had no spirits with them or took their spirits with them when they left because the place was utterly silent inside. There are land spirits outside, don't forget, and they are much less appreciative of humans than the old stream-dweller was. My three little spirits moved in, harass the cat and parrot, sometimes knock random items over, and appear out of the corner of my eye just as they did before. Since they have proven to be mobile (unlike some house and land spirits which are tied to their location) there was no trouble. I think you could easily put out a banner saying you would welcome any little friendly spirits looking for a home. I think you might also be surprised in the apartment. It's been my experience that any place where humans dwell, those little domestic spirits will find us.

One of my cats is long haired too, and neither of them like to be groomed. So i just have the salve by me on the sofa and when they come up and settle down to cuddle i sneak it onto them while petting them. At this point they will also lick the salve, which is also good taken internally. It seems to work on them and on me. The only side affect for me though is that my ears are getting pointier and i am growing a tail. Meow. LOL.

Hmm...I think I can't do anything salve-like with my little girl. Her fur is so long...and we can't shave her. She doesn't like being groomed. But for now, we're to just watch and keep an eye on it, before trying anything new on it.

She's acting like normal, which is an excellent sign. She's playful and feisty like usual, so the vet said that she may be fine. Seems cysts like this aren't terribly uncommon in older Himalayan cats.

I'll keep it in mind though, after we see how this time goes, once the vet tells us how she's doing over the next few months. Thank you.

My gf, who is good with herbs and has 5 cats has one that developed cysts like that. She made up a salve of olive oil, plantain and comfrey ground up. It worked on her cat's cysts, and on my cat's scabs they got somehow this winter, and is good on humans for any skin inflammation and cyst.

Thank you for responding. I think i am probably not a normal spell casting witch. On the one hand i am a high priest for over 30 years of an established lineage, and fact is our rituals are the same as the seasons change. We work magicke in our cone of power as a group, and witches do their own spells for their own reasons. We use various methods but i would not call us eclectic. Many are "kitchen witches" but i am not much of one. In my own personal practice of witchcraft i seek my own UPG in meditation in nature or in various other systems of eastern and western magickes, so in that way i would also be a pagan/polytheist.
Regarding the various god/esses one one hand i agree with Jung and Buddha that all are a projections of one's mind, a part of one's self. But on the other hand i do believe in various hierarchies of higher, middle and lower beings, whatever you want to call or define them. Do they change? i think they change in our minds. How we view Artemis is not how the Greeks did. We have reconstructed our god/esses in modern witchcraft, paganism and our various polytheistic pantheons.
So whatever works for each of us is the path we should walk and work on for sure.
